2022 and the Need for Mental Health Treatment Centers Nationwide
In 2022, there is a need for mental health treatment centers nationwide. As a provider of integrated healthcare options, Tarzana Treatment Centers experiences this need firsthand. Indeed, a lack of mental health treatment options leads directly to greater demand. Moreover, this demand comes from a diverse range of people in need.
Whether with or without resources, more Americans need access to quality mental health treatment centers. After the COVID-19 pandemic, people have difficulty reintegrating into normative life. Both children and adults are experiencing these difficulties. From a sharp rise in social anxiety to a general increase in depressive symptomatology,
Access to Mental Health Treatment Centers
What is an undeniable truth is that access to mental health treatment centers is a priority in 2022. Hence, according to the U.S. Departments of Labor, Health, and Human Services, this treatment issue is paramount. Indeed, it is one of the main focuses of the 2022 Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act Report to Congress.
In describing the content, U.S. Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh says, “The report’s findings indicate that health plans and insurance companies are falling short of providing parity in mental health and substance use disorder benefits, at a time when those benefits are needed like never before.”
Moreover, in a statement about the findings, U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra underlines this point:
“Unfortunately, as today’s report shows, health plans and insurance companies are falling short of providing access to the treatment many working families need. We are committed to working with our federal partners to change this and hold health plans and insurance companies accountable for delivering more comprehensive care.”
Given such a lack of accountability, TTC’s comprehensive and integrated care services are the exception and not the rule. However, given the mental health crisis, such mental health services need to be the rule.
