Integrated Treatment Services for Women and Women with Children
At Tarzana Treatment Centers (TTC), providing integrated treatment services for women and women with children is a priority. TTC has been a forerunner in the treatment industry for the past fifty years in championing women’s rights and health.
TTC is proud to offer residential substance use disorder (SUD) treatment for women and women with children (up to the age of five). Our goal is to prioritize recovery for vulnerable populations by making it accessible.
TTC Treatment Services for Women with Children
Treatment services for women with children in the residential program include:
- Pediatric Health Screening at Intake and Referrals to External Resources
- Nutrition Education and Support for Mother and Child
- Health and Reproductive Education and Support
- Trauma-Informed Treatment
- Parenting Education and External Support Services
At our Long Beach and Tarzana facilities, TTC offers inpatient and outpatient medications for addiction treatment (MAT) services for women struggling with alcohol use and substance use disorders. MAT Services help patients maintain abstinence, improving chances of long-term recovery. Medical detoxification services and withdrawal management are also available.
The Challenge of Combining Recovery with Childcare
By providing childcare, TTC builds a bridge that opens the door to healing. Our integrated treatment services for women with children aim to provide a temporary home that promotes family skill learning and recovery.
TTC also helps to ensure a safe environment for children post-treatment. Women with co-occurring disorders sometimes find it challenging to provide structure and stability for young children. The treatment staff focuses on making sure a mother is ready to discharge from treatment, able to care for her children and move forward positively with her life.
TTC Treatment Services for Women Seeking Recovery
TTC delivers various treatment services to help female patients recover from substance use disorders and mental health challenges. These services include:
- Mental Health and Wellness Services
- Medical Detoxification Services, including Withdrawal Management
- Outpatient Substance Use Disorder Treatment Services
- Individual and Family Therapy
- Family Medical Care
In TTC’s Residential Treatment Program for Women, we recognize that residential treatment for women often involves different issues than treatment for men. For example, women have different triggers than men and often have trauma histories.
Case Management and Discharge Planning for Women
TTC offers intensive Case Management services for female patients. TTC links patients to a wide range of appropriate services. These services include transitional housing, vocational training, and other resources designated for mothers with children.
Beyond case management, TTC makes intensive discharge planning a priority for women and women with children. The goal is to promote a continuity of care that leads to a successful recovery. When possible, the treatment team makes referrals and schedules an intake for mental health services in the community where a client is planning to live upon discharge.
Towards the end of a patient’s stay, discharge planning becomes an essential element of case management. Effective discharge planning helps outline employment opportunities and training options moving forward for women in the TTC program.
We also help clients to establish a sober living environment post-treatment. Connections to sober or transitional living opportunities are examples of these efforts. When needed, subsidized housing options are researched, and linkage is provided.
