HIV / AIDS

What if I have HIV or other medical problems?

We recognize that substance users may be at considerably higher risk for, or are living with HIV, hepatitis, liver damage or other health challenges. We approach these issues in alcohol and drug treatment from medical and counseling perspectives. Our fully integrated health services, including a full range of HIV services, are available with substance abuse treatment—or as a separate service. Youth Services

Do you service youth? What ages?

Yes, our outpatient and residential program serve youth ages 12 to 17. Our youth outpatient programs are located in Tarzana and Lancaster. Our youth residential program is located in Lancaster.

General

I don’t have insurance or money to pay for treatment; can I get treatment at TTC?

Yes, in addition to accepting all forms of insurance, Tarzana Treatment Centers accepts Medicare and Medicaid (Medi-Cal in California) and participates in Los Angeles County’s My Health LA program which covers undocumented immigrants. If you don’t have Medi-Cal or My Health LA, TTC will assist you with applying.

I see online there are many TTC locations, how do I know where to go?

For information about services provided at each Tarzana Treatment Centers location, please visit: https://www.tarzanatc.org/locations/ and select the location nearest to you.

Tarzana Treatment Centers has a “no wrong door” policy. You may walk into any Tarzana Treatment Centers facility and ask for help.

I am a Veteran; can I go directly to you or do I need to go to a VA location?

The VA authorizes all treatment refers direct to us from one of their facilities. If you have any questions on seeking treatment you can call us at 888-777-8565 and we can assist you.

Do you provide transportation for outpatient programs?

Tarzana Treatment Centers can arrange for transportation for individuals that are in need of these services.

Is Tarazana Treatment Center accredited?

Yes. Tarzana Treatment Centers is fully licensed in California and accredited by the The Joint Commission.

Substance Use Disorder

I am prescribed narcotics for pain, can I take them while in treatment at TTC?

This will be evaluated by medical staff upon admission. There may be consultation with your prescribing physician to determine whether to continue, taper you off the medication or switch to another medication.

How long is your inpatient stay?

Every patient is assessed at time of admission and a medically necessary length of stay is determined. Lengths of stay for withdrawal management may be from 3 to 14 days and for psychiatric stabilization typically from 1 to 7 days.

Where are your residential facilities located?

We have residential substance use disorder treatment for adults in Tarzana, Lancaster and Long Beach and for youth in Lancaster. Visit https://www.tarzanatc.org/locations/ and select one of these locations.

How do I find out if you have a bed available or not?

Call 888-777-8565 and ask to be scheduled for admission. Our policy is to admit on the same or next day, but if a bed is not available, enrollment in our intensive outpatient program will be recommended to ensure quick access to care. If requested, we can also schedule an admission date in the future.

If your beds are full, how long do I have to wait?

Our policy is to admit on the same or next day. Bed availability varies by level of care and length of stay. Inpatient has short lengths of stay and beds become available more quickly. Residential units have longer lengths of stay and the number of beds available each day is fewer.

Can I come into TTC while still intoxicated?

Patients must be in a mental state that enables them to consent to treatment. Yes, patients are accepted for treatment while intoxicated if they can consent to treatment. and do not pose an imminent risk to others.

Can I bring my computers and/or phone into inpatient or residential treatment?

Computers and phones are not permitted in inpatient or residential treatment. Substance use disorders are life-threatening conditions for many. Phones and computers will distract from focus on recovery. Many in the earliest stages of treatment cope with fears and impulses to leave treatment and return to using. Access to phones and computers makes it easier to arrange to leave treatment or to obtain your drug of choice.

Access to pay phones and visits by family and friends are available on a scheduled basis.

How can I pay for alcohol or drug treatment?

Tarzana Treatment Centers accepts most health insurance plans (including Medi-cal and Healthy Families), credit cards and other forms of payment. In specific cases, government benefits can contribute to the cost of payment.

What is the best form of treatment is best for me or for the member of my family?

Tarzana Treatment Centers offers a range of alcohol and drug treatment services from outpatient counseling to inpatient alcohol and drug detoxification. To determine what is appropriate for you or your family member a comprehensive assessment is necessary. Assessments are available at no cost.

What do your addiction treatment programs consist of?

Tarzana offers a variety of services including outpatient counseling, residential rehabilitation, inpatient or outpatient alcohol and drug detoxification, medication assisted treatment (MAT), individual and group counseling, mental health and many other services. Our range of services are delivered by a team of experienced nurses, psychiatrists, art and recreational therapists, psychologists, physicians, certified alcohol and drug treatment counselors, and social workers.

Is counseling available for family members of those seeking addiction treatment?

Yes. Tarzana Treatment Centers offers special counseling sessions geared toward family members, which focus on understanding addiction and various ways to support a person in recovery. Please contact us at 888-777-8565 regarding these types of services.

Mental Health

Do you treat depression, anxiety or other mental health disorders?

Many individuals with chemical dependency also experience complicating problems such as depression, anxiety or other disorders. From the assessment process and throughout alcohol and drug treatment, TTC’s professionals are able to identify and provide treatment for these challenges. In many cases, mental health counseling and pharmaceutical approaches may be considered.
