Flu Season Update
This has not been the best of flu seasons. If you received a flu shot and still suffered through at least a couple of days with symptoms, you are not alone.
As ABC News reports, We’re About Halfway Through Flu Season and quite a few individuals are coming down with the H3N2 strain. And getting a flu shot hasn’t helped with this strain. As the story says, “…this year’s flu vaccine only protects against about 31.6 percent of the H3N2 viruses out there because the flu strain mutated after the vaccine was created and manufactured.”
It’s still important to get the flu vaccine if you haven’t already. The reason being that, even though this strain may sneak through, the vaccine greatly decreases your odds of catching the flu at all this season. In addition, and as usual, remember to guard against passing germs and viruses by washing your hands properly, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, and by sneezing and coughing into your sleeve. These are great habits to form, and your co-workers will love you for it.
