Honoring TTC’s Primary Care Clinics on National Doctors Day
All week long throughout the year, the Primary Care Clinics at Tarzana Treatment Centers (TTC) provide medical services. The goal has been to help people access quality healthcare services for themselves and their families. Every year, on March 30, National Doctors Day honors healthcare professionals for their dedication and contributions to their communities.
Physicians and medical professionals at the TTC Primary Care Clinics honor their Hippocratic Oath by placing the patient first. Hence, on National Doctors Day, the country says “thank you” to our physicians for their hard work to keep us healthy, safe, and sound. Indeed, these medical professionals use their extensive training and experience to save lives daily.
Primary Care Clinics at Tarzana Treatment Centers
At TTC, we are proud to say that we accept all insurance options at our Primary Care Clinics. For patients without insurance, we help with Medi-Cal and MHLA Enrollment. Hence, by providing free parking and easy accessibility at our locations, the TTC Primary Care Clinics are user-friendly with a smile. The first goal is to encourage people to access the care they need. On National Doctors Day, we celebrate this goal by honoring our physicians and encouraging patients to access healthcare services.
Primary care services at TTC include chronic disease treatment like diabetes or hypertension, free immunizations, primary care physician checkups, and annual physicals. Moreover, we offer integrated behavioral health services for substance use disorders (SUD)and mental health challenges. In addition, we have HIV/AID clinics for ongoing support and medical management.
The Surprising History of National Doctors Day
As a piece of history, the first Doctor’s Day was observed on March 30, 1933, in Winder, Georgia. According to the National Doctors Day website, “Dr. Charles B. Almond’s wife, Eudora Brown Almond, wanted to have a day to honor physicians. The community mailed greeting cards and placed flowers on the graves of deceased doctors on this first celebration in 1933. The red carnation is commonly used as the symbolic flower for National Doctors Day.”
Given TTC’s ongoing commitment to Veterans’ Healthcare, the use of the red carnation is an appropriate symbol. Many services are available for veterans, women, teens, and families at the TTC Primary Care Clinics. Moreover, TTC is proud to have six Primary Care Clinics across Southern California. Hence, our locations include Primary Care Clinics in Tarzana, Northridge, Reseda, Lancaster, Palmdale, and Long Beach. By offering integrated healthcare services at each location, we help an inclusive array of patients.
Indeed, from the beginning, a goal of the TTC Primary Care Clinics has been to expand our reach in diverse communities. At the heart of National Doctors Day, there is more than a celebration of doctors. Additionally, the categorical imperative of American healthcare is celebrated: Everyone deserves quality medical services.
