Hospital Presumptive Eligibility

Hospital Presumptive Eligibility – try saying that rapidly 5 times! Hospital Presumptive Eligibility is a little known provision of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) that allows hospital patients who are eligible for Medi-Cal, but not yet enrolled, to receive 60 days of Medi-Cal eligibility after completing a simple application online. Because Tarzana Treatment Centers operates a 60-bed hospital we are able to assist patients who haven’t yet enrolled in Medi-Cal to obtain immediate eligibility for a 60 day period.
We’ve trained our staff to provide assistance with the application. It takes just a few minutes to complete the application and notification of eligibility is immediate. Patients receive a print out that indicates their eligibility and can then proceed to get primary care, medications, mental health and substance use services all covered by Medi-Cal. To maintain their eligibility patients must apply for Medi-Cal or other health insurance before the end of the 60 day eligibility period.
