HRSA Recognizes Tarzana Treatment Centers for Advancing Health Information Technology
Advancing health information technology (HIT) to improve patient services is a critical part of the healthcare industry’s continuing evolution. As part of their Community Health Quality Recognition (CHQR) program, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) recognizes health centers nationwide with badges for quality service. Based on data from the 2022 Uniform Data System (UDS) reporting period, Tarzana Treatment Centers is a 2023 CHQR badge recipient for advancing health information technology.
Hence, by optimizing HIT for patients, TTC improves the delivery of integrated healthcare services. For example, expanding telehealth services to improve patient engagement is a priority for TTC. Indeed, Tarzana Treatment Centers turned a positive into a negative during the COVID-19 pandemic by focusing on the expansion and institutionalization of telehealth services for patients at all levels of care. Since the pandemic, beyond staying in place, such health information technology is now a normative reality.
Tarzana Treatment Centers and Health Information Technology
Tarzana Treatment Centers is proud to be recognized for these efforts on both the CHQR dashboard and on the Health Center Program UDS Data webpages. As stated on the HRSA website, “CHQR badges recognize health centers that have made notable achievements in the areas of access, quality, health equity, health information technology, and COVID-19 public health emergency response for the most recent UDS reporting period.”
Receiving such an honor from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), TTC continues to move in the right direction. As a nonprofit organization, TTC has over fifty years of experience providing quality healthcare services. Therefore, improving patient services remains a priority at all levels of the organization.
In addition, advancing health information technology improves patient safety and integrated healthcare quality. For example, when successfully used, HIT improves the following eight standards of healthcare excellence:
- Improves compliance with practice guidelines
- Facilitates evidence-based decision making
- Minimizes error due to human factors
- Ensures healthcare data is accurate and complete
- Ensure HIPPA standards regarding health information confidentiality
- Reduce operational costs by avoiding waste and mistakes
- Improve organizational efficiency and communication
- Improved follow-up census for consultations and assessments
The Recognition of Tarzana Treatment Centers by HRSA
As an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Health Resources and Services Administration focuses on improving access to healthcare services for people who are uninsured and medically vulnerable. Thus, HRSA’s recognition for advancing health information technology is a meaningful moment. Tarzana Treatment Centers knows that integrating health information technology is essential to the continuing success of any healthcare organization in the 21st century.
