Partial Hospitalization Program for Substance Use Disorders
The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) at Tarzana Treatment Centers (TTC) is a wraparound program for substance use disorder (SUD) patients. Also known as Day Treatment, PHP provides SUD treatment services from the morning through the early afternoon.
The Partial Hospitalization Program runs six hours a day, five days a week. Such a program offers structure and support for people in the initial stages of recovery.
Staffed by a multi-disciplinary clinical team, the Partial Hospitalization Program starts with a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment of a patient’s substance disorder history. Such an assessment helps to determine what is needed for each patient.
The program provides a wide variety of evidence-based treatment services with a recovery-oriented focus.
Throughout the week, patients attend groups designed to foster relapse prevention, address a patient’s history of trauma, and develop the tools to live a sober life. Patients also participate in individual psychotherapy and counseling sessions.
Tarzana Treatment Centers is in-network with most insurance providers and benefits programs. The goal of TTC is to work with patients to find an affordable option and make treatment a possibility.
Substance Use Disorder PHP Services include:
- Structured Daily Schedule of Activities
- Group Therapy
- Individual Therapy and Counseling
- 12-Step Introduction
- Comprehensive Assessment and Treatment Planning
- Psychiatric Assessment and Medication Management
- Case Management + Discharge Planning
About the Partial Hospitalization Program
As a viable alternative to residential or inpatient treatment, the Partial Hospitalization Program at Tarzana Treatment Centers does not require an overnight stay. After the completion of each day’s program, PHP patients return home.
As a treatment option, a PHP is an appropriate choice for patients transitioning from an inpatient or residential SUD treatment program or coming out of an inpatient detox program. PHP helps patients needing additional support and services to avoid a relapse episode and a return to substance use.
Moreover, such a daily program provides an opportunity to develop internal coping skills and identify external triggers (people, places, and things) that endanger their recovery. In the Partial Hospitalization Program, patients receive more time and engagement in treatment than standard outpatient services.
The Goal of the Partial Hospitalization Program
As a structured program, a PHP offers additional therapy, group counseling, and the skill-building patients need to transition back to productive lives in the community. Each patient participates in a daily routine that works on developing independent living skills, fostering a sober support network, and identifying relapse triggers.
PHP services help improve functioning while boosting confidence. Such self-esteem fosters a rewarding life in recovery. As a result, patients feel better about themselves. In addition, they gain the ability to recognize their progress.
Upon completion of the program, the TTC treatment team designs a recovery-oriented aftercare plan. The goal of this plan is to help patients continue to progress as they move forward with their lives.
