The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) at Tarzana Treatment Centers (TTC) is a wraparound program for mental health patients. Also known as Day Treatment, PHP provides mental health (MH) treatment services from the morning through the early afternoon. The Partial Hospitalization Program runs six hours a day, five days a week, offering structure and support.
Staffed by a multi-disciplinary clinical team, the Partial Hospitalization Program starts with a psychiatric assessment. The psychiatric assessment helps to determine what is needed for each patient. In the program, a wide variety of evidence-based treatment services are provided.
Throughout the week, patients attend groups to develop healthy coping skills, improve interpersonal relationships, and increase their capacity for independent living. Patients also participate in individual psychotherapy and counseling sessions.
Mental Health PHP Services include:
- Structured Daily Schedule of Activities
- Group Therapy
- Individual Therapy and Counseling
- Comprehensive Assessment and Treatment Planning
- Psychiatric Assessment and Medication Management
- Case Conferences
- Case Management + Discharge Planning
Tarzana Treatment Centers is in-network with most insurance providers and benefits programs. The goal of TTC is to work with patients to find an affordable option and make treatment a possibility.
About the Partial Hospitalization Program
As a viable alternative to residential or inpatient treatment, the Partial Hospitalization Program at Tarzana Treatment Centers does not require an overnight stay. After the completion of each day’s program, PHP patients return home.
As a treatment option, a PHP is an appropriate choice for patients transitioning from inpatient psychiatric stabilization or a residential treatment program. Such a program provides daily structure and a safe destination for patients needing additional support and services. In the Day Program, patients receive more time and engagement in treatment in a PHP compared to standard outpatient services.
The Goal of the Partial Hospitalization Program
As a structured program, a PHP offers additional therapy, group counseling, and the skill-building patients need to transition back to their lives. The goal is to foster a healthy transition. Thus, each patient participates in a daily routine that builds cognitive and behavioral skills.
PHP services help to strengthen a patient’s recovery while also boosting self-esteem, so a patient feels better about themselves. By seeing the progress and being part of the program, patients prepare themselves for the challenges of returning to their homes and jobs.
Upon completion of the program, the TTC treatment team designs a mental health aftercare plan to help a patient continue to make progress as they move forward with their lives.
