SAMHSA GAINS Center Trains Trainers at TTC
When a large number of people need to be trained on a subject and they are scattered in several locations, one way to get them the same information is to hold a Train the Trainer (TTT) event.
The SAMHSA GAINS Center selected Tarzana Treatment Centers to hold one of these events, which focused on How Being Trauma-Informed Improves Criminal Justice System Responses.
TTC’s Director of Program Development, Dr. Jose Salazar, said “We worked very closely with the GAINS Center staff and Jose Rodriguez, Deputy District Director from the Office of LA City Councilmember Gilbert Cedillo, to ensure this TTT was a success.”
We would like to thank SAMHSA GAINS Center for this opportunity. Being Trauma-Informed is important within our organization due to the nature of some disorders and the populations we treat. Trauma is a normal part of life for many of the individuals who come to us for healthcare. Most of the time, they have multiple health disorders. This is why we provide integrated healthcare services that include primary care, mental health treatment, and much more.
