Domestic Violence and Anger Management Classes
Domestic Violence and Anger Management Education
Designed for men mandated by the courts, this program addresses issues of physical abuse and/or anger. The class meets the requirements for the 52-week court-mandated program and is approved by the Domestic Violence Council of Los Angeles and aims to provide participants with the tools to more appropriately deal with the feelings and thoughts that result in abusive behavior. The meetings address the intent and effect of power and control associated with abusive actions and utilize:
- Educational presentations
- Groups discussions
- Individual assignments
- Videotaped vignettes
- Role playing
A 20-week course is also offered for people with anger management issues who may or may not be under court order to complete the program. Each two-hour class is offered in English and Spanish in our Tarzana, Long Beach and Lancaster sites.
