Recovery Bridge Housing
Recovery Bridge Housing (RBH) is a program that provides short term housing to patients who are homeless or without stable housing who meet criteria of being abstinent from substances and are concurrently enrolled in an outpatient treatment program. Successful recovery involves creating stabilization in areas that are chronic stressors in patients’ lives. Safe, supportive housing is a primary factor that impacts patient success and reduces the risk of relapse.
RBH is peer supported and abstinence focused, providing a safe interim living environment to patients who are in treatment working toward sustaining long term sobriety. Most residents are patients who are transitioning out of a residential level of care to an outpatient setting, and they require a short term “bridge” until they can obtain medium or long-term housing. Approvals are in increments of 3 months, with a maximum allowance of 6 months per calendar year. Patients who a more vulnerable to chronic homelessness and/or relapse are prioritized for this benefit. All residents must remain active in an Outpatient level of treatment for the duration of their stay in RBH.
