The Youth Services Programs are strength-based, focusing on each individual’s strengths to support healing. Tarzana Treatment Centers offers inpatient and outpatient adolescent alcohol and drug treatment options, education and aftercare support services. We emphasize preventative care through outreach to local schools and community-based organizations, peer counseling, tutor and mentorship programs.
Tarzana Treatment Centers currently offer multiple levels of treatment for youth with chemical dependency and/or emotional challenges and their families. Prior to beginning alcohol or drug treatment each youth receives a comprehensive clinical assessment to determine which level of care is most appropriate. Admission into any level of care includes a medical history, treatment history and a thorough bio-psychosocial assessment. Levels of care include:
- detoxification services for both alcohol and drug detox
- residential alcohol and drug treatment
- day treatment
- intensive after school services.
Upon acceptance into a drug or alcohol treatment program, each youth is provided with an individualized treatment plan. This plan will include the anticipated duration of treatment for each individual at any level of care. Each treatment plan is developed by the patient’s treatment team in conjunction with the patient and the patient’s family.
Detoxification
Tarzana Treatment Centers recognizes that it is only in rare circumstances that youth require detoxification services. This intensive level of care is provided in an inpatient setting that is designed to safely and rapidly detoxify the patient.
Detoxification includes:
- medical treatment
- participation in therapeutic activities
- individual and group therapy
- psychiatric services
- introduction to the 12-step philosophy
- planning for treatment at the next level of care
