Tarzana Treatment Centers Commemorates National Recovery Month
Since 1989, the United States has observed National Recovery Month in September. The observation underscores that recovery from substance use disorders is a genuine possibility. In 2023, the tagline for National Recovery is “Every Person, Every Family, Every Community.”
Underscoring the critical role of recovery, this tagline means that every person in every family and community matters. Also, nobody is not a part of this equation. Indeed, everyone is affected by substance use disorders in their own lives, their family members’ lives, or the lives of people in their community.
Therefore, in a powerful message on YouTube, Dr. Miriam Delphin-Rittmon, an American psychologist currently serving as the Assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services for Mental Health and Substance Use, underscores this point. Since we are all affected by substance use disorders, we must unite to promote recovery.
Tarzana Treatment Centers and Promoting Recovery
As an integrated healthcare organization, Tarzana Treatment Centers (TTC) believes in the reality of successful recovery, supporting efforts to raise awareness and reduce stigma. Thus, we promote recovery by supporting National Recovery Month. Moreover, we agree with Dr. Miriam Delphin-Rittmon, also the leader of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) when she says:
“It is a time to recognize and celebrate the nearly sixty million Americans who identify as being in recovery from substance use and mental health conditions, along with the peer support workers, family members, allies, and caregivers who work tirelessly to help make recovery possible. As SAMHSA, we stand with you in your recovery journey. We know that recovery is unique to everyone. It is a journey built on each individual’s values and life goals.”
Indeed, as a compassionate, professional healthcare provider, TTC believes in whole-person healthcare through our integrated programs of primary medical and behavioral services. By treating the whole person, we recognize their unique recovery journey. Thus, TTC’s SUD Treatment Programs treat patients as individuals first with a detailed assessment.
National Recovery Month = Raising Awareness
By making National Recovery Month a priority, TTC can help save lives.
