Youth and Family, Services Community Programs, are proactive and interactive examples of the work of Tarzana Treatment Centers. As a significant part of Youth and Family Services, TTC offers a series of Youth and Family Services Community Programs.

Often funded by federal, state, county, or city government grants, these programs improve TTC’s ability to provide qualitative services for young people in our respective communities.

Youth and Family Services Community Programs aim to raise awareness by educating youth and families. By offering evidence-based and culturally responsive content, These Community Programs allow TTC to be a community asset. Below is a list of some of the current programs being offered.

  1. Family and Youth Wellness Support

The Family and Youth Wellness Support Program reflects TTC’s mission to deliver integrated healthcare solutions that treat the whole person. Focusing on developing balanced and healthy living skills, we help to ensure positive well-being in youth and families accessing substance use disorders (SUD) and mental health (MH) treatment services.

  1. Future Leaders Program/OAYI

Overdose deaths for youths increase every year. Funded by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), Future Leaders is a trauma-informed intervention program that helps guide youth to a joyful, drug-free lifestyle. As a significant feature of TTC’s Youth and Family Services Community Programs, it offers prevention workshops in schools, training sessions for teachers and professionals, and psychoeducation for parents.

  1. Youth Opioid Response (YOR)

Funded by a grant administered by the California Institute of Behavioral Health Solutions (CIBHS), the Youth Opioid Response Program (YOR) emphasizes the importance of culturally responsive prevention and treatment services. The goal is to promote the benefits of recovery to underserved, at-risk youth, preventing the misuse of opioids and stimulants.

  1. Valley Street Smarts (VSS)

A six-to-ten-week education program, Valley Street Smarts offers free classes in queer-friendly sex education. The goal is to teach youth how to make healthy life decisions. The VSS program also raises awareness about the threats of Viral Hepatitis and HIV/AIDS through sharing needles and unsafe sexual practices. At the same time, youth are taught coping and prevention skills.

  1. SAPC PEP Program

SAPC PEP stands for Substance Abuse Prevention and Control (SAPC) and Prevention Education Program (PEP). Supported by Los Angeles County, this substance use prevention program offers an evidence-based curriculum to youth and families. The goal of each one-time presentation is to contribute positively to life skills and healthy choices.
