At Tarzana Treatment Centers (TTC), youth substance use disorder treatment is an ongoing priority. Hence, the TTC Youth and Family Services Programs are strength-based. These programs focus on the positive aspects of recovery in substance use disorder treatment (SUD) to support healing and sobriety. Thus, our goal is the long-term success of your teenager or adolescent.
As part of the youth substance use disorder treatment program, Tarzana Treatment Centers offers inpatient and outpatient alcohol and drug treatment options, educational opportunities to help a young person stay on track, and aftercare support services. We also emphasize preventative care through outreach to local schools and community-based organizations, peer counseling, tutoring, and mentorship programs.
Today, Tarzana Treatment Centers offers multiple levels of care for youth SUD treatment to help young people and their families with alcohol/drug issues and emotional challenges. Before beginning treatment, each youth receives a comprehensive clinical assessment. Moreover, such an assessment determines which level of care is most appropriate. Admission into any level of care includes a medical history, treatment history, and a thorough biopsychosocial evaluation.
Youth Substance Use Disorder Treatment Levels of Care:
- Inpatient Medical Detoxification
- Residential SUD Treatment
- SUD Outpatient Services, including Intensive Outpatient Services (IOP)
- Integrated Mental Health for those with Co-Occurring Disorders
- Individual and Family Counseling
- Intensive Case Management
- Recovery Support
- Aftercare Planning
Each patient receives an individualized treatment plan upon acceptance into the youth substance use disorder treatment. This plan includes the anticipated duration of treatment at any level of care. Additionally, each treatment plan by the SUD treatment team is developed in conjunction with the patient and the patient’s family.
Inpatient Medical Detoxification and MAT Services
Given the national drug crisis, medical detoxification services for youth are more common than ever before. The TTC clinical and medical team has extensive experience providing detoxification services to youth who require it. Indeed, this intensive level of care in an inpatient setting provides safe and rapid detoxification.
Using MAT (Medications for Addiction Treatment) Services for youth, TTC opens the door to successful recovery outcomes. Indeed, our goal is the long-term health and success of your youth.
Medical Detoxification and MAT Services for Youth include:
- Medical Treatment
- Participation in Therapeutic Activities
- Individual and Group Counseling and Therapy
- Psychiatric Assessment
- Introduction to 12-Step Groups and Philosophy
- Aftercare Planning for Treatment after Detoxification
Residential Substance Use Disorder Treatment
The youth residential level of care in Antelope Valley removes young people from unproductive environments. Such a level of care integrates patients into a drug-free, therapeutic environment twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Thus, residential treatment provides safety and security for youth in crisis.
While in residential treatment, a teenager or adolescent learns how to manage their day-to-day lives free of alcohol/drug use. As a direct result, youth develop healthier boundaries within a social structure with specific rewards for good behavior. Patients earn points each day based on their behavior and willingness in the SUD program. To honor an individual’s success in the program, a graduation is held for everyone who completes their residential stay.
In the residential setting, youth are randomly given drug tests. The Youth and Family Services Program maintains a safe environment where young people can grow and change. Parents, siblings, and guardians participate in family therapy and family support groups when possible.
Residential treatment helps to stabilize youth while providing them with skills that will allow them to return home or move to another appropriate living environment.
The goal of substance use disorder residential treatment is to provide youth with the skills needed to remain sober post-treatment in a less restrictive environment upon discharge. By empowering youth to succeed, the treatment team fosters hope and inspiration.
Traditional Youth Services and Treatment Modalities include:
- Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Motivational Interviewing
- Seeking Safety
- Art Therapy and Social Activities
- Independent Study through the Antelope Valley (AV) Unified School District
- Prevention Awareness and Patient SUD Education.
- Interactive Discharge Planning
Indeed, special care ensures that youth in residential and outpatient settings have access to all the services they need to prosper. TTC’s evidence-based treatments allow young people to truly recover from what seemed like a hopeless state of mind and body. Such an evidence-based approach is essential in a world where youth SUD treatment is in greater demand than perhaps ever before
Outpatient Services for Youth SUD Treatment
The TTC Outpatient SUD Treatment Services in the San Fernando Valley and Antelope Valley primarily provide services after school and on the weekend, making it convenient for youth and families to access needed alcohol/drug treatment services. All provided services are supported by ongoing education regarding alcohol and drug use, support and wellness groups, counseling, case management, recovery support, and specific services for the family.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) + Day Treatment
The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides youth with clinical services five days a week between 3:30 pm and 8:30 pm and during the weekend on Saturday at 9:00 am and 2:00 pm. As a result, the intensive outpatient treatment program is ideal for youth with damaging problems at home or in their current school because of drug or alcohol use. Intake and admission services are available anytime between 9:00 am and 8:30 pm.
Once treatment begins, the goal is to get them back on track and free of chemical dependency.
Moreover, the Intensive Outpatient Program is proven to help youth transitioning back to school from residential alcohol or drug treatment or other structured living facilities. In contrast to residential, youth in the Intensive Outpatient or the Day Treatment Program go home at night.
During youth outpatient programs, youth take random drug tests. In addition, we offer progressive treatment modalities, such as art therapy, drama therapy, and recreational therapy. Thus, outpatient treatment aims to help normalize behavior and the recovery process.
All Levels of Youth SUD Care = Promoting Recovery
Tarzana Treatment Centers believes in early interventions and not waiting to help youth experimenting with drugs or alcohol. As the federal government expresses on the Youth.gov website, “Evidence suggests that successful early intervention and treatment carries significant benefits.” Thus, we believe in treating a problem before it worsens and threatens a young person’s life.
At all levels of Youth SUD Care, the goal of the Youth and Family Services Treatment Team is to promote sustainable recovery and long-term success. To learn more about how we can help your teenager or adolescent, please contact us today. At TTC, we are here to help.
